Work Duration: Afternoons (7.5 hours)

 

Salary: $23.11 – $25.11 per hour.

Job Requirements (Qualification)

To be eligible for this position, applicants must possess the following qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade 10 education or equivalent.
  • Minimum of six months experience performing cleaning duties, including knowledge of WHMIS regulations and guidelines and the use of mechanical cleaning equipment (polishers, burnishers, scrubbing and waxing).
  • Fluency in English; ability to speak, read, and write English and to follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Neatness in appearance; good manners; and capability to do manual labour related to housekeeping duties.
  • Physical capability to meet all of the job’s demands; ability to respond to changing work priorities.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Good work performance and attendance record.

 

Job Requirements (Duties)

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Cleaning assigned areas as per established policies and procedures.
  • Moving furniture for cleaning and organization purposes.
  • Gathering and disposing of soiled linens, landfill and biomedical refuse, emptying garbage chutes, recycling bins and cleaning waste disposal equipment.
  • Promptly responding to urgent housekeeping needs.
  • Maintaining adequate stock levels of supplies.
  • Regularly reviewing area of responsibility and promptly reporting any damages, furnishing, equipment, and hazards to the Supervisor/Manager.
  • Maintaining work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Other duties assigned by the Supervisor/Manager.
